Cockta

Cockta is the most popular non-alcoholic soda drink of Former Yugoslavia, which many generations of youth grew up with. Cockta does not contain caffeine nor orthophosphoric acid. It was created in 1952 when the inventor, Emerik Zelinka, mixed pomegranate fruits, vitamin C, various herbs and caramelized sugar, and created a new cocktail – hence the name. Cockta was introduced to the public for the first time in Planica in 1953, and approximately one million liters of Cockta were produced in the first year. In the first 14 years of its existence, Cockta sales grew by 25 % annually. In the early 1980s, Cockta reached record sales of 37 million liters annually.

The secret of Cockta special flavour lies in the unique mixture of eleven herbs, with pomegranate giving it special aroma, while its overwhelming freshness comes from lemon and orange flavors.

Aside from its classic form, Cockta comes in six different flavors: Cockta Lime + Ginger, Cockta Mandarine, Cockta Easy, Cockta Rossa, Cockta Chinotto and Cockta Black tonic.
