Atlantic Grupa began distributing Manner products in 2001. Manner is a confections producer with a long and rich tradition and history.
On 1 May 1898, Josef Manner I opened the first confectionary in Vienna. In the same year, he compiled the recipe and was the first in the world to produce the waffle product Neapolitaner-schnitte, also known in this area as "Napolitanke." At that time, sweets represented absolute luxury and were bought exclusively as a gift for ladies. For this reason, Josef Manner packed each individual sweet in a little paper box and tied it with a pink ribbon. That's how the pink colour, in addition to the Vienna Cathedral, became synonymous with Manner's products.
Today, the Napolitanke is only considered original if the hazelnut used for the cream filling comes from the region of Naples.
Josef Manner I was a salesman, innovator and visionary. In 1908, he built a factory next to his family home and started the first serial production of confectionary products. With serial production, the price became more affordable, too, so his motto: "chocolate for all" became a reality. In 1960, desiring to keep Manner Napolitanke remaining fresh and crunchy for a longer time, Manner presented the first Napolitanke wrapped in an impermeable aluminium foil with a ribbon for easier opening - an invention that all producers of consumer goods use today.
In the period between 1970-2000, Manner widened its business though acquisitions, and today has in its ownership the products of 5 respected brand groups :
